Pokémon Wind/Wave” Map Draft and Details Leaked

A rough draft of what appears to be the map for the tenth-generation Pokémon games has recently surfaced online, along with additional information about the upcoming titles. The leak originates from X user CentroLeaks, who has continued compiling Gen 10 details following the massive October 2024 Game Freak leak (code-named “Teraleak”), in which thousands of internal files were exposed. The new titles are reportedly tentatively titled Pokémon Wind/Wave or Wind and Wave, with a targeted release window of 2026.

In late November 2025, CentroLeaks released what is claimed to be a sketch of the new game's map. The drawing shows an archipelago structure, matching earlier leaks suggesting the setting is inspired by Southeast Asia and Indonesia. The sketch indicates a mountainous region in the northeast, a large southwestern island containing an arid desert, and at least two volcanoes located among the central island clusters.

Although the draft labels only 15 islands, the source emphasized that these represent only the major landmasses; the final game will reportedly include many more smaller locations, totaling around 30 islands. CentroLeaks did not clarify how this draft relates to their earlier claims of “procedurally generated infinite islands.” Based on Game Freak’s typical development patterns, the new titles may use a “finite map + partially procedurally generated areas” model, similar to the Mirage Island concept from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, while still keeping most areas handcrafted.

The leaked sketch suggests a map suitable for Game Freak’s traditional route-based design—linear progression in the early game, with navigation methods such as seafaring or flying being unlocked later. Beyond terrain, the new titles may introduce randomized elements in Pokémon design; CentroLeaks previously claimed that certain base-form Pokémon will have infinite evolutionary variations. Weather-type techniques are rumored to be the core mechanic of Generation 10, though the exact implementation remains unknown. A return of the National Pokédex has been definitively ruled out.

According to the leaks, the battle system will partially draw inspiration from the Pokémon Legends series while maintaining a turn-based foundation. Information leaked in October 2025 mentions a development budget of around $20 million, similar to Scarlet/Violet. While low by modern AAA standards, this still reflects an increase from Sword/Shield (approximately $16 million).

Even if the current leaks are accurate, the game's development may still shift. Following tradition, if the planned 2026 release holds, the titles will likely be officially announced on Pokémon Day, February 27 of the previous year.
